gener8tor’s turnkey platform for the creative economy connects startups, entrepreneurs, artists, investors, universities and corporations. The gener8tor platform includes pre-accelerators, accelerators, corporate programming, conferences and fellowships focused on entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, startups and job seekers.

gener8tor is looking for a VP of Finance to join our rapidly growing team. This position will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial leadership, drive financial performance, and ensure the integrity of financial information. The VP of Finance will also collaborate closely with other departments to support business objectives and drive growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial plans that support gener8tor’s strategic goals
• Lead financial planning and analysis efforts, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Oversee financial reporting processes and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and accounting standards
• Manage cash flow, financing, and investment activities to optimize gener8tor’s financial position
• Create and own cash flow and P&L forecasting tools; hold weekly meetings with leadership to review
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the leadership team
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with other departments to drive cross-functional initiatives and achieve business objectives
• Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
• Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and auditors
• Partner with FullStack and People Operations to onboard new hires

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required; MBA or CPA preferred
• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role or 5+ years of experience in public accounting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with a focus on developing and empowering team members
• Experience in startups is a plus
• Excellent supervisory and leadership skills
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Good problem-solving and time management skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, ERP Systems & Microsoft Office tools (Excel proficiency is a must).
• Entrepreneurial spirit and a self-starter
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects, responsibilities and relationships
• Willingness to intensively and rapidly dive into understanding the needs of gener8tor’s large and growing platform
